Hampden Bowling Club New Committee
Ian Lewis – Past President
Will Moffat – President – Charity Trustee
I am the new Vice president, I live locally to the Bowling Club and am involved in the connection of the club with the local community. I’m a keen photographer and my wife is an artist and is also a member.
Dr. Jennifer Russi – Club Secretary – Charity Trustee
I’m Jenn and I’m the new club secretary. I’m new to bowls and joined Hampden at the beginning of the 2021 season. As a novice, I was struck by how friendly and helpful members were, and wanted to be involved in the club’s future. When not at the club, I enjoy rock climbing and working in neighbouring Kingsley Gardens with the residents volunteer gardening group
David James – Treasure – Charity Trustee
Hi I’m David James – as most of you know I’m treasurer of the club.
I joined the club in 2017 and am a relatively novice bowler although I did play a bit of bowls with my Grandpa in Bellahouston Park when i was younger! I’ve an emotional connection to HBC as a lifelong Queen’s Park FC fan so exciting times for both clubs!
Neil McAllister – House Convenor – Charity Trustee
I am Neil McAllister I have been the Hampden House Convenor for the last 20 months. I first joined the bowling club in 2019 via the Monday nights Give Bowls Ago nights – I enjoy a Monday night as its more relaxed and enjoyable night with less pressure, its a great way to meet new members.
I am a football fan
John Douglas – Match Secretary – Charity Trustee
I am John Douglas, the new Match Secretary and the regular quiz master (in normal times). I first played bowls when I joined Hampden in summer 2015 and I have been a keen member ever since. I particular like an pairs or triples game in the evening sun listening to the blackbird perched on the roof of Kingsley Avenue.
Danny Thompson – Ordinary Committee Member – Charity Trustee
Dr. Naomi Head – Ordinary Committee Member – Charity Trustee
Hi, I’m Naomi and I’m new to the neighbourhood and the bowling club, having only been a resident on Kingsley Avenue for a year. I joined the bowling club this past spring and, although my debut on the green has been limited (as are my bowling skills), I’m looking forward to getting out more when spring returns to us again! I’m excited by the opportunities to develop the club and I’m looking forward to working with everyone.
- Past President – Jim Milligan
- Honorary President – Walter Rankin
Without these people there would be no Hampden Bowling Club. We are a members-only volunteer run club and we would be delighted to talk to anyone who would be interested in one of these roles, which become available for election each year at the AGM.
